Bevelled Plate Cup Pull

A deep cup dropping below a bevelled rectangular plate. The bevel is a chamfer around the plate's edge, catching a thin line of light all the way round — the most substantial of our three plate-backed pulls, and the one that reads oldest.

Sold singly. A run of drawers usually takes three or four.

The screws are solid brass — the same metal as the handle, so they settle into the finish and age with it rather than standing apart. Each piece is cast and hand-finished, so offer the handle up to the drawer and mark through the holes before you drill.

Choose your finish

Polished Brass — polished to a mirror and left bare. A living finish: it will warm and patina over time.

Aged Brass — an antique patina, so it arrives already dark. Still bare brass underneath, so it is a living finish: it will continue to darken and settle. On a bevelled edge it is especially fine — the chamfer stays brighter while the flat goes dark.

Satin Brass — brushed to a soft sheen and sealed under a clear lacquer. Lacquered: it will not change.

Will it change? Polished and Aged, yes — both are living finishes. Satin, no — the lacquer holds it still.

Care

Polished and Aged: a soft, dry cloth, and a metal polish only if you want to hold the brightness. Satin: a soft cloth, and never abrasive cleaners — they break the lacquer down.
