A ceramic tile of black and real gold, set on solid antique brass — a coat hook borrowed straight from the pub-front tradition.
The lineage is Victorian — the gilded shopfront lettering and behind-the-bar signage that used to mark English public houses. Each tile carries that same visual language: a cream mosaic-patterned field with a black border and a hand-brushed gold letter at its centre. The gold is real leaf, applied by hand and sealed under a hard glaze — every letter has the small unevenness of a brush rather than the mechanical flatness of print.
The ceramic tile is mounted to a solid brass hook in an antique finish — heavy, curved, generous enough to hold a wool coat or a leather bag without strain. Fixings are hidden; wall screws and plugs are supplied.
Buy one for a study door, or specify several to line a hallway wall — a family name, a house number, or a run of guest initials for the coats of visitors.
Works well in: a dark-panelled hall with a rush runner and a green-glass pendant overhead — or a snug home bar with a marble counter, cane stools, and a shelf of amber bottles. Especially strong against forest green, deep navy, and oxblood walls.
Sizing: ceramic tile approx. 55mm square; brass hook projects around 60mm from the wall. Sold as a single letter. Fixings supplied.
