Forged by hand, marked by the hammer — a knob with the honest weight of the workshop about it.
Each knob is hand-forged from steel by a blacksmith working the metal hot on an anvil, using techniques that predate the factory line. The hammer leaves its record across the surface — a beaten, faceted texture where no two dimples fall quite the same, catching shadow rather than shine. Once shaped, each piece is finished with a hot dip in honey-colored beeswax, which settles into the hammer marks, deepens the near-black color, and guards the steel against wear.
The result is tactile and grounded: cool at first touch, warming in the hand, with a matte, softly waxen surface that feels made rather than manufactured. It brings a little of the forge into a room — the kind of piece that looks better for being handled, year after year.
Works well in: a rustic kitchen in sage or olive green, a pantry of unpainted oak, or a farmhouse dresser washed in warm off-white.
Sizing: made to standard cupboard proportions, supplied with a threaded bolt to suit doors and drawers of typical thickness — trim to fit thinner fronts; as each is forged by hand, small variations are part of its character.
