British Pub Tile Black and Gold Monogram Ceramic Cabinet Knob

The black-and-gold monogram of a Victorian pub tile, shrunk to knob-scale and set into the fronts of a kitchen or dresser.

The reference point is unmistakable — the ornamental lettering that used to sit above English public house doorways and behind the bar itself, painted in gold on glazed black tile. Each knob picks up that same visual grammar: a small mosaic-tiled field in cream, framed with a black border and centred on a gilded letter of your choosing. The gold isn't printed but hand-brushed, so every knob has its own thickness of stroke and its own small imperfections.

The ceramic top is fired to a smooth glaze, then mounted onto a solid metal base with a brass-tone bolt. The knob is heavy in the hand — the kind of hardware that closes a drawer with the small, satisfying weight of something considered.

Order individual letters for their alphabet meaning, or line up several across a run of cabinet fronts to spell a word — HOME, GIN, BAR, PANTRY. Any letter of the alphabet is available.

Works well in: a green-cabinet kitchen with brass faucet hardware and a run of leaded-glass upper cabinets — or a small home bar with a marble counter and back-lit shelving. Especially good against deep colours: forest, oxblood, ink.

Sizing: ceramic face approx. 40mm diameter; base and bolt project around 30mm behind the door. Standard M4 25mm bolt supplied — trim to length for thinner fronts.
