Considered homes are for everyone. Our commitment to making the G Decor experience accessible — and what we are still working on.

Our commitment

G Decor is designed to be used by as many people as possible, including visitors who use assistive technology such as screen readers, voice navigation or keyboard-only browsing. We believe a beautiful home shop should be open to every customer who wants to look, read and buy from it.

We work toward the internationally-recognised standard WCAG 2.1 Level AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines). This is the standard most reputable e-commerce brands aim for, and the one referenced in UK and EU accessibility guidance.

What we have built into the site

As of this update, gdecor.co.uk includes the following accessibility considerations:

  • Keyboard navigation — every link, button and form field can be reached and operated using the Tab and Enter keys, without a mouse.
  • Alt text on product images — every product photograph has descriptive text so screen-reader users hear what the piece is.
  • Sufficient colour contrast — we use a restrained palette of cream, deep ink and brass with contrast ratios that meet AA standards for body text.
  • Readable typography — generous line-height, sensible font sizes (15–17px for body), and a serif/sans pairing chosen for legibility.
  • Semantic HTML structure — headings, landmarks and form labels are correctly tagged so screen readers can navigate the page.
  • Mobile and touch friendly — tap targets meet the 44×44-pixel minimum and the site is fully responsive on phones and tablets.
  • Focus states — visible outlines appear when navigating with a keyboard so you can always tell where you are on the page.

What we are still working on

We are honest that no e-commerce site is perfectly accessible to every user in every context. We are aware of, and working on, the following:

  • Some legacy product pages may have missing or generic alt text — we are reviewing and rewriting these.
  • Our wishlist heart button uses an icon-only control on product cards; a screen-reader-friendly label is provided, and we continue to refine the announcement text.
  • Older journal articles and blog posts may not have descriptive image captions in every case.
  • Third-party tools we use (Klarna, Trustpilot reviews) are subject to their own accessibility levels, which we cannot directly control but which we monitor.

If you have a problem using our site

If you encounter an accessibility barrier — anything from a button that does not respond to keyboard input, a contrast issue, an image with no alt text, or a checkout step that is difficult with a screen reader — please write to us. We treat accessibility reports seriously and will respond within five working days.

Email: support@gdecor.co.uk

Where helpful, please include:

  • The page URL where you encountered the issue
  • What you were trying to do
  • What happened (or did not happen)
  • Which assistive technology and browser you were using, if you are comfortable sharing

Reasonable adjustments

If you cannot complete a purchase, return or enquiry using our website for any reason related to access, please write to us at the address above. We are very happy to help you place an order by email, phone or a method that works for you.

Updates to this statement
