Heavy-Duty Antique Cast Iron Decorative Coat Hooks

Solid cast iron, poured in styles borrowed from the Victorian ironmonger's catalogue — a hook that will still be here in a hundred years.

Each hook is sand-cast from solid iron and finished by hand in an antique black patina. The weight in the hand is immediate — this is proper metalwork, dense and cool, of the kind that used to line the walls of Edwardian schoolrooms and station cloakrooms. Six patterns are offered, each drawn from period reference: the Acorn with its turned finial, the Victorian with its graceful sweep, the Beehive with its beaded body, the Windsor with its restrained curve, the Regal Scroll with its ornate flourishes, and the Heritage with its plain, rustic strength.

The finish is deliberately antique — a hand-applied patina rather than a paint coat, so it will chip and age gracefully at the edges rather than flake. Slotted screw holes are pre-drilled; wall screws are supplied. Fitted well, these hooks will carry heavy wool coats, saddle bags, canvas totes, and cast-iron pans on a kitchen rail — anything asked of them.

Works well in: a boot room with a slate floor and a run of wall pegs — or a scullery with an open shelf of enamelware and a linen apron on the hook. Also good in a boat-hut aesthetic: shiplap walls, rope-handled crates, a coil of rope on the floor. Choose one style per rail for a considered look, or mix patterns for a curated collector's wall.

Sizing: hooks measure between approx. 90mm and 130mm in length depending on style; each projects around 55–75mm from the wall. Sold individually. Wall screws supplied.
