Golden Butterfly Radiant Ceramic Cabinet Knob

A ceramic dome touched with a hand-painted golden butterfly — small enough to feel like a secret, ornate enough to reward a second look.

Each knob is thrown and glazed by hand in a small ceramics studio, then the butterfly motif is applied by brush in liquid gold before a final low-temperature firing fixes the metallic detail into the glaze. The technique is closer to fine porcelain decoration than standard hardware, and the outlines are drawn freehand — so every butterfly is uniquely traced.

The body is high-fired stoneware in a smooth ivory or soft neutral glaze, with the gold applied to the crown of the dome. The mounting stem is solid brass, threaded for a standard M4 screw (25mm supplied). The gold is durable and will hold its brightness with ordinary use; wipe with a soft damp cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners.

Works well in: Vintage-inspired dressing rooms with painted wardrobes, French country kitchens with soft-toned cabinetry, powder rooms with wallpapered walls, and dressing tables in guest suites. It also finds an unexpectedly happy home on a modern flat-front cabinet — the small ornament reads as a considered gesture rather than a mismatch.

Sizing: Approximately 35mm diameter (1.38") with a 30mm projection (1.18"). A comfortable, considered size — light in the hand, generous in presence.
