Solid pewter, forged and shaped by hand — a penny-end pull with the soft, muted glow of hardware that has always belonged to the house.

Each handle is made from solid pewter using traditional metalworking techniques, shaped by hand into a robust, practical fitting. The defining detail is the round penny-end fixing plate at each end — worked to raise a lip around the fixing points, which lends both strength and that unmistakable heritage look found across period and country joinery. The simple curved profile sits comfortably under the fingers, and pewter's natural corrosion resistance means it works as happily on an exterior door as an interior one.

The finish is a soft, muted metallic tone — understated enough for a neutral scheme, characterful enough for a rustic one. Fit a pair to a run of drawers, a cupboard, or an internal door where you want honest, hand-forged hardware.

Works well in: a country kitchen with a scrubbed timber table, a stone floor, and open shelving — or a paneled hallway with a heavy oak door and a woven runner. Especially good against sage, putty, and natural-oak cabinetry.

Sizing: hand-forged solid pewter; three lengths — 4in for smaller drawers and compact cabinetry, 6in for standard drawers, cupboard doors, and smaller room doors, and 8in for entry doors, room doors, barn doors, and larger furniture. Supplied with matching fixing screws. Care: wipe with a soft cloth to remove dust; a light application of oil on moving parts from time to time keeps the action smooth.

About the Pewter Finish

The Pewter finish takes its inspiration from traditional metalworking, where pieces were shaped by hand and finished with a muted, silvery tone that softened with use. To create this look today, the ironwork is first forged and shaped, then carefully brushed and treated to reveal a gentle silver-grey surface. The process leaves small variations and shading across the metal, which gives the finish its natural, slightly weathered appearance. Unlike bright plated finishes, Pewter is designed to look settled from the start — not shiny, but quietly metallic, as though it has already been part of the home for years. The final tone is achieved by layering and working the surface until it reaches a balanced, soft sheen that feels grounded and familiar. This makes it particularly suited to wooden doors and neutral interiors, where materials with more subtle character tend to sit comfortably. Pewter is also appreciated for being straightforward to live with; the finish doesn’t demand special care and simply needs an occasional wipe to keep dust away. Because the tone is built into the surface rather than applied as a heavy coating.
