Solid Satin Brass Knob Backplate

A backplate sits between the knob and the door. It frames the knob, protects the paint around it, and is the neatest way to cover old screw holes or marks left by previous handles. Every plate here fits every knob in The Kew Collection — the champagne crystal knobs and the satin brass knobs alike — so you can put any knob on any plate and change the whole look of a door front.

How they fit

• 2 mm thick, with a 4 mm centre hole.
• The knob's fixing screw passes through the door and the plate and into the knob — no extra fixings needed.
• With a plate fitted, the knob stands 2 mm further off the door.

All £9.99 except the Squircle at £12.99. Each shape has its own drawing in the photos — choose one from the dropdown and the drawing changes to match. Sizes are measured on the piece; allow up to 1 mm either way.

The backplate is sold on its own, so choose a knob and a plate for every door.

Dispatch

The backplates arrive with us in mid-October, so they are dispatched in 3 to 4 weeks. The delivery time shown at checkout runs from the day your order leaves us.

Care

Avoid ammonia-based sprays and anything abrasive. Do not use metal polish on a satin finish — it will burnish the brushed grain to a shine in patches.
