Each Polka Star knob is lovingly thrown and hand-painted by studio makers, the little star pattern applied stroke by stroke against a soothing pastel ground. Because every piece is painted individually, no two are exactly alike — the spacing and rhythm of the stars shift subtly from knob to knob, which is part of what gives a whole run its collected, un-machined feel. The colour is sealed under a hard clear glaze, so it holds fast against years of fingertips.

Fired to a durable high gloss, these celebrate the beauty of handmade design while being built for daily use. The rounded dome gives a comfortable grip, and the base is a threaded bolt through a metal collar, mounted with a single drill point — an easy, instant update.

Fit one to bring a little whimsy to a plain drawer, or run a whole set across a nursery, a dresser, or a bright kitchen.

Works well in: a child's room with a painted cot, a rag rug, and a shelf of picture books — or a soft-toned kitchen with open shelves and a scrubbed pine table. Especially good against cream, chalk, and pale-painted timber.
