Golden Butterfly Graceful Ceramic Cabinet Knob
3 interest-free payments of $3.67 with Klarna
A ceramic knob with a single hand-painted golden butterfly poised at its centre — quiet in scale, graceful in gesture, made piece by piece rather than pressed by machine.
Each knob is turned and glazed by hand in a small ceramics workshop, then finished with a butterfly motif painted in liquid gold and set into the glaze through a low-temperature second firing. The technique draws on old European porcelain decoration — the kind of gold-work traditionally used on hand-painted teaware — and each butterfly is drawn freehand, so no two are identical.
The body is high-fired stoneware in a soft ivory glaze, and the mounting stem is a solid brass insert threaded for a standard M4 screw (25mm supplied). The gold detail is fired into the glaze rather than sitting on top of it, giving the piece real longevity. Clean gently with a soft damp cloth — no abrasive cleaners.
Works well in: Country bedrooms with painted wardrobes, bathroom vanities with brass faucets, hand-painted kitchens where warmth matters more than sharpness, and small pieces of restored antique furniture. It reads especially at home in rooms where natural light is generous — the gold catches it and gives back a soft glow.
Sizing: Approximately 35mm diameter (1.38") with a 30mm projection (1.18"). Comfortable and considered in the hand.
