In the Spanish city of Toledo, rising above the Tagus, artisans have perfected the art of intricate inlay for centuries. Each of these knobs draws on that heritage — luminous mother-of-pearl inlays that shimmer in the light, framed by polished brass, and arranged in geometric motifs that echo the palaces, cathedrals, and metalcraft of the medieval city. The result carries a fusion of Moorish, Gothic, and Renaissance influence in a single small piece.

Because the mother of pearl is natural and the finishing is done by hand, every knob is unique — subtle variations in the shell's iridescence highlight its artisanal character. The brass is polished to a warm gold, solid and lasting, and the base is a threaded steel bolt mounted with a single drill point through the cabinet door.

Fit one as a jewel on a standalone piece, or run a set across a kitchen, a wardrobe, or an antique dresser for an old-world finish.

Works well in: a jewel-toned dressing room with a velvet stool, an oval mirror, and a pleated silk lampshade — or a study with panelled walls in deep green and a leather-topped desk. Especially good against forest-green, navy, and oxblood cabinetry.
