Oval Backplate, Solid Brass

A plain oval plate that sits behind a knob, covering the face of the door where fingernails land and old screw holes show. 70 x 40mm, one central hole.

This is the piece that lets you build your own: choose a knob, choose a plate, and the pairing is yours rather than ours. A plain knob on a shaped plate reads formal; a decorated knob on a plain plate reads quiet.

Polished Brass, Unlacquered - polished to a smooth, mirrored finish and left bare. A living finish: it darkens and patinas with handling.
Aged Brass - an antique patina, so it arrives already dark. A living finish; it goes on moving.
Satin Brass, Lacquered - brushed to an even satin sheen, then sealed under a clear lacquer. It stays as it arrives.
Polished Chrome - solid brass, polished bright and chrome plated. Stable, and the only one of the four that will not change.
