Once ready, the reclaimed glass is heated to over 1,500°C (2,732°F), where it melts into a fluid state ready for reshaping. In this transformative moment, the artist's hands take over. Using time-honoured glassblowing techniques, the molten material is coaxed and guided, turned with precision, and carefully inflated by breath. Each silhouette emerges slowly, shaped by skill, rhythm, and instinct. The result is glass with presence and grace, formed through patience and intent. While still warm and malleable, each piece is finished with its most defining detail: a series of fine, vertical engraved lines. These are not stamped or mechanically etched but engraved entirely by hand, one line at a time, using traditional tools.
