Description

Taru means tree in Sanskrit (India) — a word chosen to honour the material and message behind this piece. Just like the tree it’s named after, this frame carries a quiet strength, natural beauty, and a story of giving back. It’s a small way to connect something personal — a photo, a moment — with something lasting. These stylish standing frames have a chunky wood design, made from sustainable mango wood. The combination of natural wood and see-through real glass creates a clean look that really brings attention to the image inside. Each frame is handmade, crafted with care to highlight the natural grain and feel of the mango wood. This frame has a clever double-glass construction. The glass panels slides out, allowing to easily position a photo, artwork, or keepsake before sliding it back into place. The clear glass on both sides lets the image appear as if it’s floating, giving it a light, open feel from any angle. Mango wood pieces are made from trees that are first grown for their fruit and harvested over many years. Once the trees stop bearing fruit, they are cut and used for wood — and new trees are planted in their place. This sustainable process helps reduce waste and provides farmers with an additional source of income, supporting both the environment and local communities. Each frame is finished by hand, making them full of character. The handmade process is not rushed — it’s thoughtful, intentional, and a reminder that beautiful things can still be made with care.

Our Farmers & Trees: A Story of Care, Cycles & Craft

In the warm heartlands of rural India, our farmers live and work closely with the land — nurturing the earth and tending to what it gives. Among their most cherished companions are mango trees, planted by hand in family-run orchards and cared for with love across generations. These trees grow under open skies, soaking up the sun, rain, and time — and for many years, they gift the sweetest golden fruit season after season. Mango trees are never grown for timber. They are grown to nourish, to feed families, and to support local life. Only when a tree stops bearing fruit — after decades of life — do farmers cut it down with respect, knowing its journey isn't over. That same tree, which once fed the village, is now transformed into beautiful, natural mango wood — full of warmth, texture, and memory. This wood is sold by the farmers, giving them extra income and the chance to plant new mango saplings in its place. It’s a cycle that keeps giving — to the planet, to the farmer, and to every home our pieces reach. No good tree is ever harmed. Only those that have lived fully, fed well, and reached their natural rest are chosen. By using our mango wood frames, you become part of this quiet, powerful cycle — one rooted in sustainability, tradition, and hope for the future. Each piece is a tribute — handcrafted with care, and made to carry stories just like the tree it came from.
